We have all had that one time when a magician performs a magic trick for us, and we are so impressed about that because we don’t know how to do it. That is what Graham, an LHS Junior practices for; the illusions, and people’s reactions.

Seventeen year old Nicholas Graham, or Graham, was born in Leominster, Ma, and moved to Lowell a few years ago.

“My dad showed my this one trick when I was like five when he put a coin behind my ear, it blew my mind.” said Graham; he then got a book and started learning and practicing from there.

Graham’s favorite magicians are David Blaine, Criss Angel, and Michael Carbonaro. For him David Blaine is a go to card magician, ” Blaine is more outgoing and energetic, Criss does more dark magic and his method of presentation is more calmed and slow, and Carbonaro simply because he works with animals and I like his TV show a lot.” stated Nicholas. From them he has learned multiple tricks, and he recalls that some are too dangerous to perform at school.

His aspiration is to be a professional magician, although he says it is a very tough path to follow since there are a lot of good magicians out there.

Graham’s favorite trick is the card color change, a trick he learned when he was ten years old at a birthday party, and taught by a magician.

Other than magic, Nicholas loves ice hockey and his favorite team is the Washington Capital. He also stated that he plays guitar. His as passionate towards video games as he is to magic, “I am obsessed with it since when I was seven when I went to an arcade for the first time, and went there all the time and got hooked with it since then.”
