What cast members have to say…
April 25, 2017
From the cast we got some people to share some thoughts with their production of The Wizard of Oz.
Becky Bussiere
Q: What is your approach with this musical?
A: A classical approach, on a time honored and loved by many. That’s what I want
Q: Why The Wizard of Oz?
A: I just thought it’d be a perfect way to get all different kinds of kids and students together.
Q: What were your intentions with the characters you casted?
A: An innocent Dorothy, and Kayla Noble fit that. Luidgy Bellamour fit the Lion well with his loud personality. William Mailloux, the Tin man, fit it [the role] with his awkward composure and personality, and John Quigley, as the Scarecrow, just suited it [the role] well.
Q: Do you have any connections with the The Wizard of Oz?
A: The book is very well written, but there is some differences between the movie and the novel.
Q: What do you expect from the actors?
A: I expect them to be prepared, to be here on time, and professional.
Zelan Anderson
Q: Why did you join the production of The Wizard of Oz?
A: Cause I love to act. I have no fear in front of people. I feel this is a good
opportunity to make new friends as well, so I try to do as many productions as possible.
Q: Do you believe you’ll take acting and theatre arts as a career in the future?
A: No, but public speaking. I think theatre is a good way into public speaking so you’re already putting yourself out there in front of people.
Q: Do you feel the part you are cast for fits you? Are you content with this role?
A: No, I feel that I have a lot of issues acting as Professor Marvel, the original version or Mr.Oz. But Mr. Oz I’m fine with, but it’s difficult to approach the character.
Q: What should the audience expect going into this?
A: A lot of fun, laughter, “wows”. We’re trying a lot of things. There is 100 people working on this production. And I’m excited about the set pieces.
John Quigley
Q: Why did you join the production of The Wizard of Oz?
A: I’ve done theatre at LHS for my 3 previous years of high school, since I
already did the winter production I decided to end my year off with this.
Q: Do you believe you’ll take acting and theatre arts as a career in the future?
A: I’m more of a music major, but I’m not opposed to it in my adult life.
Q: Do you feel the part you are casted for fits you? Are you content with this role?
A: Yes, I am very happy with my role. I feel we both have a lot of similarities. I mean we both don’t have common sense
Q: What should the audience expect going into this?
A: Expect one of the biggest performances we have ever had in terms of production value.
