An LHS Personal Growth Story

by Alyceah Landis

Lowell,Ma- Maria Landis evolved as a person while a student at Lowell High School (LHS).

During her time at LHS she tried different activities, sports teams and different styles. She chose the different interests “just to do something to pass the time.”

“Freshman year I was less serious about my school work. Senior year however I was more serious because I was thinking about my future,” said Landis who took on a different style each year of her high school career.

The first year at LHS she dressed like a thug. Sophomore year she dressed in a preppie style and also in her ROTC blues. Junior year she just wore her favorite pajamas. Senior year she proudly dressed in her cap and gown at graduation.

In 1996 Landis became the fifth sibling from her family to graduate from LHS.

As part of the LHS ROTC Armed Drill Team she remembers learning citizenship, leadership and discipline.

Landis matured as a person from her freshman year to her senior year at LHS.
