MSBA Invites Lowell High School Into Eligibility Period

By Brian Hoey

Lowell, Mass. – The Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) recently accepted an application for funding by the Lowell Public Schools to study the need for a new high school building.

In an email sent to the Lowell High School staff from headmaster Brian Martin, he said that this would be the, “beginning of a process that will provide our students and staff with a first class facility.”

The approval represents the first step in an eight step process to obtain state funding for the construction of a new high school, or to make renovations to the existing high school.

The Executive director of the MSBA, John McCarthy said that, “The Eligibility Period is a critical step in the MSBA’s process of evaluating potential work on Lowell High School… we look forward to our continued partnership with the district as it enters the Eligibility Period.”
